01. About our Coffee
Where do you source your coffee?
Itasha Coffee works closely with trusted industry partners to source high-quality South American coffee from a variety of farms and regions. Many of our roasts feature beans grown in countries like Brazil, Colombia, and Honduras, selected for their consistency, flavor profiles, and growing practices.
How do you source your coffee ethically?
As a small business, staying involved in the sourcing process matters to us. By working within the specialty coffee industry, we prioritize responsible farming practices, long-term supplier relationships, and ethical sourcing standards that support both quality and sustainability. We also believe that offering a higher-quality specialty product empowers consumers to make more responsible choices within the coffee industry.
How do you flavor your coffees?
We flavor our coffees using naturally derived flavoring oils that are added to the coffee beans after roasting. This method allows us to create consistent, high-quality flavored coffees without adding sugar or sweeteners.
Our roasting and flavoring process is designed to preserve coffee quality while minimizing waste and unnecessary additives.
How many calories and how much sugar does your coffee contain?
Our flavored coffees contain zero added sugar and zero calories from the coffee and flavoring itself.
Any calories, sugar, or allergens would come only from what you choose to add, such as milk, creamers, or sweeteners.
Does your coffee contain nuts, dairy, or gluten? Any other of the major allergens?
We do not intentionally add nuts, dairy, gluten, or other major food allergens to our coffee or flavoring process. All of our roasts—both flavored and unflavored—are designed to be allergen-friendly.
That said, as with the broader coffee and food industry, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of trace exposure. If you have a severe allergy, we strongly encourage you to reach out to us directly so we can help you make an informed decision.
Please contact us with any questions or concerns—we’re always happy to help and want to ensure you have a great experience with Itasha Coffee.
What ingredients does your natural flavorings contain?
Our flavorings are derived from natural sources and formulated specifically for coffee use.
In accordance with FDA guidelines and to protect our proprietary recipes, we do not disclose the exact composition of our natural flavoring formulas. However, we are happy to answer general questions and work with customers who have specific allergen concerns to the best of our ability.
Can I sample your coffees?
We currently offer sampler bundles on our website, which are a fantastic and affordable way to try a variety of our roasts. We’re also planning to introduce a build-your-own bundle option in 2026.
02. The Perfect Cup
How do I adjust the strength of my coffee & the flavor?
Simply add more coffee! We recommend starting with around two tablespoons of coffee per six ounces of water, and then adjusting this ratio based on your preferred coffee strength.
What brew method is best for your coffees?
The one that you prefer! Genuinely, we've tried our coffee using a variety of methods and have found that everyone will find the perfect balance between practically and flavor that works for them. Try a cold-brew method for a low acidity roast, or an espresso-machine for the perfect blueberry latte!
At our events, we use a drip-pot and believe this to be the perfect starting place for our roasts.
I tried your coffee at a convention, how do I replicate it?
We use a general-use drip coffee maker and natural spring water for brewing the coffee at conventions. To top it off, our creamer of choice is a sweet cream that you can make at home using simple ingredients! Or, sneak over to the store and buy some, we won't judge.
For a 12-cup pot of coffee, we use 8 tablespoons of medium ground coffee.
If you have any issues, please feel free to reach out!
Do you recommend any creamer or sugar added to your roasts?
We’ve found that adding a store-bought or homemade sweet cream is a fantastic way to boost the flavor of our coffee. If you have any questions or would like recommendations, feel free to reach out!
03. Shipping & Order
Where are you based & where do you ship from?
We are based in Chicago, Illinois. While we do not currently operate a public storefront, we are actively working on expanding the business and regularly attend conventions and events.
We’d love for you to visit us in person at a local convention when possible!
When will my order ship?
Our coffee is prepared and packaged to order and typically ships within one week of purchase.
Occasionally, orders may take up to two or three weeks to ship due to convention travel, higher-than-usual order volume, or other operational factors. If delays occur, we do our best to communicate them clearly. You can always reference the ship-by date listed in your order confirmation for the most accurate estimate.
When will I receive my order confirmation?
Order confirmations are usually sent immediately after checkout. If you do not see your confirmation email, please check your spam or promotions folder and allow up to 24 hours.
If you still haven’t received it after that time, please reach out to us through our Contact Us page and we’ll be happy to assist you.
